2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Release Date
Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 – Yesterday, thanks to the generous tipster, we found photos of what appeared to be the new Ford Mustang Bullitt. The Ford community relations team did not comment, but given how car production is ready, we will not be surprised to see the Mustang Bullitt unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show next month. But thanks to some leaked photos posted on the fan forum, there is a possibility Bullitt can join another Mustang: the new Shelby GT500.
Ford is working on the new Shelby GT500! Maybe. Around the internet car, we’ve seen photos of the new Mustang spies and roar that are hotter and the name of Shelby GT500 is being brewed. Indeed, what we know for sure is that Ford is testing some prototype Mustang based on Shelby GT350.

2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Engine
So what machine provides juice for the upcoming GT500? The only thing I believe from this paper is that it will have eight cylinders and use some kind of forced induction.
We do not know what this prototype is, what drives them, or whether it is an indication that something is cool that is going into production. But, there are many rumors to be ignored, so we collect everything here. And while we do not know what this Mustang will be called (if it reaches production, its meaning), we will call it GT500 from now on.
The GT500 is seen as Ford’s answer to the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 650 hp and the Dodge Challenger Hellcat 707-hp, so everyone predicts it will produce a great V8. Looks like nobody approves the V8 type. As shown by our co-workers in Car and Driver, the new twin-turbo V8 and supercharged V8 have drifted as many GT500 engines as possible.
Motor Trend acquired a Shelby GT350 image with a supercharged engine, claiming that what was shown was a GT500 prototype, but that has not been confirmed. It could easily be a prototype for a factory supercharger kit for the Shelby GT350, not necessarily GT500.
2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Specs
As you would expect from the Mustang wearing the GT500 badge, Ford’s latest muscle car will be an aggressive version of the wiser GT350 styling. It’s not visible now because its prototypes are disguised to gear, but Ford will definitely launch a unique aero package. While it will borrow some GT350 body panels, the 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 will get some features of its own.
For starters, we know for sure that this high-performance coupe will have a larger fixed wing and stay on top of the trunk lid. This feature is not yet in the latest test chart, but we’ve seen it on prototypes before, in addition to the new bumper of a large splitter.
Although hidden by camo, the front fascia should also use a larger bumper intake and a revised main grill allowing more air to enter the engine. Speaking of it, a larger and more powerful powerplant will come with a new hood equipped with a powerful dome.
A revised diffuser and new side skirts are also on the table, along with an exclusive “GT500” badge on the fenders. The GT500 package can also include some new exterior colors and a combination of various body lines.
As described above, our rendering artist feeds the GT350 a bowl of steroids and turns them into the sexiest and most aggressive Mustang generation. The front fascia is highlighted by a honeycomb in the main and bottom grille, a carbon fiber divider with large wings on each corner, and a reinforced hood. The unique wheels with red brake calipers, “GT500” badges on the front fenders, large side skirts and carbon fiber wings complement the picture.
The inside of Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 is a complete mystery of this paper, but the logic dictates that it will be based on GT350. It will still be recognized as a Mustang and use similar dashboards, door panels and center consoles and but will have a variety of unique features. While the steering wheel is likely to be sourced from the GT350, the instrument cluster will have bespoke gauges, while the infotainment screen will be updated accordingly. —topspeed.com
2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Concept
The less obvious competitor for the Mustang Shelby GT500 is the Porsche 911 GT3. But interestingly, Mustang6G.com photographed a Ford benchmarking one near its headquarters in Michigan. This does not mean Ford is trying to build a rival GT3 though. Cars often become the benchmark of other cars just to learn one or two specific elements. Although it makes us wonder about the intent of GT500 because it is considered more as a special pull strip than a race car.
Unfortunately, we have some silly facts about GT500. All we have is rumors and spy photos. But, we still pay attention to what Ford polished. It’s hard to imagine that he does not want to take pictures of ZL1 and the Hellcat. —roadandtrack.com
The original GT500 was relaunched in 1967, four years after Ford introduced the Mustang. Although unlike track-prepped as GT350, the GT500 has a larger engine, equipped with a V-8 7.0 liter, not the 4.7 liters found in the former.
On top of the machine, which pumps as much as 360 horsepower for the 1968 model, the GT500 also receives unique features inside and out and Le Mans-inspired line package. Somebody parts are made of fiberglass to save weight and improve performance.
2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Release Price
It’s obviously too early to discuss prices, but the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 2020 could be the most expensive version of the 6th generation Mustang and earn about $ 70,000. What’s more, there is news that Ford plans to build it in limited numbers, which can be translated into unreasonable agency costs.
